RMIT New Academic Street
a design collaboration between Lyons, Minifie van Schaik Architects, NMBW, Harrison White and Maddison Architects
The New Academic Street is a major investment by RMIT University to dramatically transform existing buildings 8, 10, 12 and 14 to reconfigure the heart of their campus and dramatically transform the ‘student experience’. The scope of this major project involves expansion of the existing central University Library, more than doubling informal student learning seating, expanding the retail offerings to students, and creating a new ‘media precinct’ at the lower levels of the redevelopment.
